Rommaninat Park
Rommaninat Park, also known as Khuk Kao or Romaneenart Park, is a public park in Bangkok, Thailand.
It holds historical significance and is situated between Siriphong and Maha Chai Roads in the Phra Nakhon District.
The park is surrounded by landmarks such as the Giant Swing, Wat Suthat, and Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre.
Origin
The park is built on the former site of Klong Prem Prison, which was initially constructed in 1890 under the royal initiative of King Chulalongkorn, also known as Rama V.
Later, in 1972, the prison was renamed Bangkok Remand Prison.
Inauguration
On August 17, 1999, Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn, who would later become King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X), officiated the official opening of Rommaninat Park and the Corrections Museum.
Size
The park spans approximately 29 rai, roughly equivalent to 11 acres. This area provides a green and open space for relaxation and recreation in the city’s heart.

Rommaninat Park serves as the terminal for the BMTA’s bus line 42, making it convenient for visitors to access the park via public transportation.
