Royal Dusit Palace

Dusit District is perhaps most famous for housing the Royal Dusit Palace, a palace and buildings used by the Thai monarchy for various official functions and ceremonies.

The most well-known palace within the complex is the Vimanmek Mansion, which is the world’s most enormous golden teakwood mansion and is now a museum open to the public.

The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, another prominent structure, is often used for official ceremonies and state functions.

Government Buildings

Dusit is home to numerous government offices and administrative buildings, including the Thai Parliament House (Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall) and the Government House, where the Thai Prime Minister’s office is located.

Dusit Zoo (Khao Din Wana)

Although Dusit Zoo was one of Thailand’s oldest and most popular zoos, it closed in 2018.

Suan Amporn Park

This green park is located in the heart of the district and provides a peaceful retreat for locals and tourists.

It features beautiful gardens and walking paths.

Ratchadamnoen Avenue

This avenue runs through the Dusit District and is lined with many important government buildings and historical landmarks, making it a prominent thoroughfare in Bangkok.

Wat Benchamabophit (Marble Temple)

This is one of the most beautiful and well-known Buddhist temples in Bangkok.

It is made of white Carrara marble and is renowned for its elegant architecture and serene atmosphere.

Museums

Dusit District is also home to several museums, including the King Prajadhipok Museum and the Royal Elephant National Museum, which display historical artifacts and information about Thai royalty and cultural heritage.
